My Beautiful Little Girl & All Her Hats!
My little girl's birthday was a few weeks ago and to celebrate we had another session with our favourite photographer. As I've blogged about, I love to knit/crochet hats for my little one. I can't help myself in showing everyone how beautiful she is....

Baptismal Dress & Knitted Baby Bolero
Well I didn't quite make Baby G's baptismal dress as I had hoped, but I did knit her a really cute baby bolero. I'm happy with the results....she looked so cute in it. I used Paton's Grace for the yarn and love this colour. As a friend warned me, I used a 1/4 inch smaller needle for a better knit. It made all of the difference. The pattern I used was from Sirdar (which always turns out great too). Now, I can get back to sewing again!

Bloggers Quilt Festival
Amy at ParkCityGirl.blogspot.com is hosting a bloggers quilt festival from April 17-24. She has asked us to blog about a favourite quilt we have made and share it with others. I had blogged in January about a quilt I made my Mom for Christmas. I'm not sure I'm in love with the colours I used, but I am in love with the design. I love love love circles in quilts....like Denyse Schmidt's baby quilt...What a Dish. If I could figure out how to do it I would! If anyone out there can give me some tips, I am open to them!!!
The quilt I made my Mom was a pattern from CarolinaPatchworks.com. I am a fan of her designs and purchased her pattern in the fall. Check it out. I've included a picture of the quilt I made...which was really my second official quilt. I was happy with the way it came together - binding, quilting, everything! It was a great test for me. I tend to be a perfectionist so scrappy circles was a good thing for me to try:) AQuiltisNice.blogspot.com also made a quilt from the same pattern and I really like her use of colour.

Baby's First Easter
Along with getting ready for her baptism next week, we are celebrating her first Easter tomorrow. Tonight I made her a little bunny onesie - she is going to look so cute in it! We were shopping today and she reached for this bunny so needless to say I had to buy it for her - and it seems fitting! She has a little stuffed kitty that she makes you kiss all of the time...which has just started in the past week or so....so now I'm sure we'll be kissing her bunny too! Happy Easter!

Spider Web Block - Pieced Together Quilting Bee
I made Sara's block today for the PTQB. I'm really glad she challenged us to do this one since it's such a popular design and it's my first time paper piecing. I'm happy with the results, but I learned a few lessons, or as I like to call "aha" moments....like remember to decrease your stitch length....which I did but then forgot to set this decrease after I switched my machine off. I was busy with my daughter this afternoon and had to take breaks in between stitching this block. When it came time to remove the paper and I sprayed it with some water, there were a few places where the paper was making the stitches come undone...and then I realized! Well, that will teach me! The stitches are on default....oh MY! Mommy brain! :)
