Can everyone say "Yeh, today is Giveaway Day" at SewMamaSew!!! It's a day (actually a week) of great giveaways across Blogland!!!
Welcome to my little blog for those of you who have never been here before and for those of you who have...welcome back!!! I haven't been too active on here lately because of my crazy life and little ones but I couldn't miss participating in this great event!
Up for grabs are two great giveaways!!! Two is always better than one right? :)
1st Giveaway: 3 FQs of Erin McMorris' Weekends line
2nd Giveaway: Urban Baby Cabled Pixie Bonnet 0-3 Months (could probably even fit baby a bit longer as I made it long).
In order to qualify for these giveaways, I'd love to hear your feedback on my litte etsy shop called UrbanBabyPhotoKnits All feedback, positive or negative, is welcome. I'd love to hear which hat is your favourite? Is there enough variety? How about the listings...photography, pricing, descriptions? Thank you in advance for your comments!!!
I'll draw both winners randomly on December 16th at 8pm EST. I'm happy to ship internationally. Good luck!!!
P.S. Hope you drop by again sometime!!! Now get going to the next blog and get your name in some great draws!

I love your little Etsy shop. I think that some of the photos are a little misleading though. You should have the immediate picture be of the hat for sale, and then the other photos second. I also think you have really lovely hats and any baby would be lucky to get one. A few more boy hats would be good too. Have a super awesome Christmas!
ReplyDeleteHi Nicole,
ReplyDeletethanks so much for your comments. I appreciate what you're saying about the photos....the hard part is that each one of my hats is a OOAK as I use hand dyed handspun wool and I wanted a photo of the "style" of hat from my photographer.....it would be hard to have a professional shot of each hat for sale. If you have any more thoughts on this please let me know because it is a dilemma:)
I like the pink and green boho beanie, but my favourite is the hat above. Love those colours together :-)
ReplyDeletelove your hats - especially the aviator hat. you could add some fun animal hats or solid color earflap ones with little flowers
ReplyDeleteThe photos of the babies are beautiful, but I think they take away from the hats. Some of the hats are a bit washed out and are not close enough to the hat. The photos where it is super zoomed into the baby's head with the hat on is great. It's my favorite.

the best photos are the ones with a darker background, so the hats actually show up, grass in the background or on the purple blanket look good. the white blanket make sit hard to see anything. Cute babies though!
ReplyDeletelaurenlehman@Gmail.com (Blogger and Google are not cooperating)
Cute shop, lots of lovely photos!
ReplyDeleteThe pics of the hats on the babies are adorable!
ReplyDeleteVery cute shop! I like the pictures with the babies. Have you thought about a wider variety of sizes?
ReplyDeletei agree, maybe a wider variety of sizing, but love the fact they are being worn by babies. thank you for the chance, i love th pixie hat!!
ReplyDeleteimisswaylon@Hotmail.com
While I ADORE the hat I have no-one to fit it. Super sad, because it's a lovely hat! I like the shop a lot. My favorite is the grey & pink hat. I think the pictures are super fab!
ReplyDeleteYour shop is precious!I love the photos. You can't go wrong with babies. I love the hat you just sold. the colorful pixie one. :)

I think your photos showcase your hats well! I especially love the gnome/ pixie hat :) Thanks for the chance to win as well!

Awww, cute hats! I did think it was a little hard to see the white hat on the white background: Urban Baby Cabled Pixie Bonnet, Newborn Photo Prop Baby Girl 0-3 Months. The Urban Baby Pixie, Gnome Hat, Newborn Photo Prop, Baby Boy or Girl (newborn-3months) could probably use a different background too. I like this picture: Urban Baby Boho Holiday Beanie, Newborn Baby Hat & Photo Prop and also the one for: Urban Baby Boho Beanie in Holiday Colours Photo Prop (6-12 Months) Limited Edition.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
Cute shop, all the hats are adorable, I love the pixie hats though. I think the prices are a little steep for my taste but the hats are super cute! Thanks for the chance to win, my baby girl Selah just turned 1 month old so I'll cross my fingers and really hope I win the hat!
ReplyDeleteokiedokiemama at yahoo dot com
The photography is superb for sure! I really liked the Urban Baby Aviator Hat, and i think you may need more of these rather than the pixie style ones. Also consider some applique on the hats, for variety, although I do like the chunky buttons.
ReplyDeleteYou have such an eye! I love both the fabrics and the adorable hat.
ReplyDeleteYour shop is really sweet! I especially love this hat http://www.etsy.com/listing/82997303/urban-baby-pixie-gnome-hat-newborn-photo. My only real feedback would be to offer some larger sizes. Both my kids are older (3 and 4 1/2) so unfortunately, they won't fit in anything in the shop right now.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, I would love to win the 3 FQs :)
You have some great items and great pictures. I think you have a good variety in styles. Enough without being too much. Once you add a few more to each style, you'll have a good number of items. I love the aviator hat. My suggestion would be to make some toddler size hats (or at least take custom orders for them) and maybe some newsboy style caps. I can definitely see some 3 and 4 year old girls in your hats. They are beautiful. Good luck on Etsy.
ReplyDeletekristie_keely(at)yahoo(d0t)com
I hopped over to your etsy shop to discover that I had already "favourited" it!
ReplyDeleteI love your hats, they are quirky and sweet and everything I'd want in a baby hat. I'm a total sucker for pointy hats on babies. However, they are all little - I'd love to see some 6-12 month and larger sizes.
thanks for hosting this giveaway!
avital at gmail dot com
cute shops, well i would love to see more warm colour tones for the hat.
ReplyDeletethanks for the chance.
waipueyyee@gmail.com
I love your urban baby aviator hat best but they all adorable. I think you might increase your sales by expanding your size range and maybe introducing some more colours.
ReplyDeleteI loved your shop. That aviator hat is so cute, I can imagine it in different colors.
ReplyDeleteI think the shop looks great...hats with a point are a favorite of mine
ReplyDeleteanniecbates at gmail dot com
Cute hats! How about adding some toddler hats too?
ReplyDeleteI like your shop! Very cute and I like the photos. The one above is stunning, what yarn did you use?
ReplyDeleteLove the baby aviator hat. So cute! Love the thick uneven look of the yarn as well!
ReplyDeleteLove your shop!! the hats are unique and well priced. Would be nice to see some larger ones. I bet my 10year old boy would even wear something like this!! THere are two pics that the photography isn't at good as the others, and those kind of stand out.
ReplyDeletepickme(at)efinnegan.com
Beautiful pictures. I think the hats would work great as a photo prop for a professional photographer.
ReplyDeleteI love the hats and photos!
ReplyDeleteThe photos are wonderfully done! Nothing helps a sale like a great photo.
ReplyDeletedaydreamhouse ... at ... hotmail ... dot ... com
What a great giveaway! My birthday is Saturday, and this would be a great birthday present!
ReplyDeleteI love the aviator baby hat in your store!
Very cute hats in your etsy shop! I think the ones with a darker background and a light colored hat look the best as they show up better in the little photos. Thanks for a chance to win! :)
ReplyDeleteI like the colors and chunky yarn in the Urban Baby Boho Beanie Newborn Photo Prop Baby Boy (0-3 Months). I think you have a good variety in your shop. Thanks for the giveaway! robyn(dot)geddes(at)gmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteI like your hats a lot, some pictures are not so good, I prefer the ones with the baby with the hats. I think you should have more close-ups with a contrasting background.
ReplyDeleteI think your hats are beautiful. There are a couple of dark pictures in your shop, but the rest look bright and cheery. :) When you take them yourself, try using natural light. Thanks for the chance to win!!!

ReplyDeleteI like the pixie hats. They are different than what's out there a lot. The yarn is different and cute too. Have you thought about selling patterns? Since I knit/crochet/sew, I would be less likely to buy an actual hat, but more likely to buy a pattern. Not sure what that would do for you hat sales, but its something you can make money on and get your name out without actually having to build an inventory, etc.
ReplyDeletePS. I love the hat and would love to own it... in case I was confusing by my comments. I think your hats are unique and I love them. :-)
mmm. love your giveaways!! I love your hats-so unique and can just imagine them on a newborn!
ReplyDeletemcintoshsusan (at) hotmail (dot) com
I would love to see some larger hat styles. Also, I would rather the main picture be for the actual hat for sale, rather than saying "the one for sale is the second picture". I could see someone (me) not reading that before they buy.
ReplyDeleterebekahricker (at) yahoo (dot) com
The photography is lovely, but in some of the pictures where the hats are unworn, it'd be great if there were items that gave an idea of the scale of the hats.
ReplyDeleteI agree -- larger hat styles! These are cute but my little niece just turned 6 mos!
ReplyDeleteReally a cute shop with lovely photography. I love Erin's fabrics but would have no use for the Pixie hat.
ReplyDeletethanks!
I love the little hat!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite on your etsy site is the aviator hat! So cute!
Your etsy site is really fun! I like the aviator hat the best.
ReplyDeletebeth(dot)sebastian(at)gmail(dot)com
That is a sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet bonnet! for my little niece or nephew!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are good, but you need dark backgrounds for photographing the white hats.
You have a nice selection. Maybe add some cute diaper covers and blankets. Honestly I wouldn't pay more than $25 for a hat, but maybe I'm cheap.
ReplyDeleteCute hats. I agree with others in having a larger range of sizes.
ReplyDeleteI like the styles. Add some more colors including blues.
ReplyDeleteI'm your newest follower. Do you have an RSS Feed?
ReplyDeleteLoves the fabrics. You make a pretty handmade hat. Pretty baby photo too. Loves your shop too. I added to my etsy fav.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win ^^v
your photos are lovely, really. i'd like to see some hats for bigger kids (mine's 4) but your work is lovely!
ReplyDeletethanks for the giveaway!
looks like you are doing everything right, the products and photos are all adorable!
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures with the babies, but the others are harder to see....Very cute stuff!
ReplyDeleteLovely shop! I think the photos are great, it is nice to see them on babies. I think it would be nice to have more sizes to choose from.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are so adorable on your shop.
ReplyDeleteThe one thing I would say is that your hats tend towards baby girls with far fewer earth tones that I personally associate with baby boys. I am expecting Jasper Pete - my first nephew - any day now so I tend to have baby boys on the mind :)
it is so great to see another Canadian in the giveaways.
Thanks for the giveaway!
allisonbright{at}gmail{dot}com
I love the pictures of the sleeping babies! Some of the photos on wood don't show the size of the hats very well.
ReplyDeleteOh I am in love!! What's not to like. It's all adorable! Wish I could each and every one. My only complaint is that you don't have lots more. And my favorites are the Cable Pixie and the Urban baby boho Holiday! And the one you are giving away is just beautiful! It would look just perfect on my newborn niece - Azalia!! Thanks so much for sharing your adorable hats and for an awesome giveaway!
ReplyDeleteDrat...I forgot my email in above comment.
ReplyDeleteLauraleelien at yahoo
or the email asscoiated with blogger if it came up works too. Thanks again!
Sweet..and so are the hats. What darling little baby pics.
ReplyDeleteLove all of your sweet handiwork in your etsy. What adorable models you have.
ReplyDeleteskowens (at) sbcglobal (dot) net
orfI love your little hats. They are so precious. I especially love the pale pink with the pop of red trim. I think your prices are reasonable and that your Etsy looks lovely. I would suggest that you advertise the items that are selling though as some people fall in love with a specific design and then find you are only selling a variation and may be put off. Good luck with your store.
ReplyDeleteI think your store is lovely, along with the photography. The hats are really, really cute. I have the perfect baby for that hat, and I'm the right mama for the fabric !
ReplyDeleteYour photos are sooo cute! It makes me want to buy something although I don't have a baby :) Lovely!
ReplyDeleteSusanne
I love your photos! Congratulations on the good work!
ReplyDeleteYour shop looks great, the photos are lovely. I like the purple pixie Gnome hat--too cute!
ReplyDeleteHow fantastic your shop is..... love it x
ReplyDeleteOh nobody likes to give criticism or feedback ... I'm guessing that's why there isn't so many comments on this giveaway vs. other giveaways! :)
ReplyDeleteThe photography is amazing — with the babies in it. The other photography isn't as enticing, so I would be drawn to purchasing something with the baby in the photo.
For instance, I wouldn't even post this listing with this photo: http://www.etsy.com/listing/88240250/urban-baby-girl-beanie-6-12-month-size
Compared to the rest of the stuff in your shop, this doesn't look like it's a good product just based on the photo. It doesn't look like it's worth $37 when the products with the setup baby photography look like they could be worth even more than $37.
Thanks for the chance to win, and I hope the feedback helps your shop's success!
I like the aviator hat. Maybe offer custom designs?
ReplyDeleteThe aviator hat is definitely my favorite, but they are all so cute. Plenty of variety in your product. I do think the one photo seems a little less professional in quality. The "Urban Baby Girl Beanie" could use a new photo. Other than that, I think it's great!
ReplyDeleteHow cute are those hats!!!!! I love the holiday beanie one, but they are all darling. I think the etsy shop shows off the items beautifully.
ReplyDeleteI love the gnome/pixie hat-so cute! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYour models are darling. As for the hats without heads in them, my eyes would be able to see them better if all the thumbnails had the same or near same background. ie white or all on logs, as I noticed one was. Good luck with your shop. Great merchandice! I will be faving it :)
ReplyDeleteThose are some of the cutest baby pictures I have ever seen. Seriously, it took a few minutes before I could even pay attention to the hats! It's hard to pick a favorite--each one is cuter than the next!--but I think it might be the cabled bonnet in the giveaway. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteVery cute pictures in your store. I'm curious: do you sell more hats that are pictured WITH babies? Because those look more fun to click to me.
ReplyDeletecute! I'd like to see the cocoon looking blanket in your header offered in the store :)
ReplyDeleteI love the photography with the babies!
ReplyDeleteAwww! That baby is precious.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute wee etsy shop - love the hats
ReplyDeleteYou have some really lovely stuff! I think that the photos with the babies definitely showcase the product the best. The ones that have good contrast between the background and the product make it easier to see as a thumbnail, so I would definitely go for babies with contrasting backgrounds. Very cute!
ReplyDeletei love your shop! my fave item is the pixie hats... :) raineoc@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteI am partial to boys (I have two) so i really love the aviator hat. I wish there were more boy friendly options!! Thanks for the giveaway!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat sweet babies. Your hats are beautiful, but I'd like to see some for slightly older babies (toddlers), the ones you're more likely to take out in cold weather.
ReplyDeleteI think the photos and hats in your shop look lovely. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteYour photos of the hats on the babies are adorable but I also love the ones without. I like the photos with the darker backgrounds the best. Some larger sizes would be nice.
ReplyDeleteramona_murray(at)comcast(dot)net
i love your etsy shop. its well organized
ReplyDeleteI also don't have anyone who would be wearing that cute hat, but I love the fabric! I think some of the pictures are a little washed out and it's hard to tell, first look, exactly what the hats look like. I really love the ear flap hats!
ReplyDeleteThat fabric is so fun, I love it. The photos are great and your shop is super cute.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely products you have. I definitely think you should have the product you are selling as the first image. If I was after a certain colour and only going by the photos you have as the first image I wouldn't find it!
ReplyDeletexo Steph
I LOVE the pixie bonnet!
ReplyDeleteYour shop is adorable! I love all the squishy babies, makes me want to buy all the hats! The lighter colored yarns need a darker background.
dvdenter (at) gci (dot) net
Your hats are so gorgeous!...and of course who doesn't love little babies in photos!
ReplyDeleteLove your shop and your photography! The aviator hat is just the cutest. Thanks for the chance to win. :) ryansarahn(at)gmail(dot)com
ReplyDeletei love the style of all your hats and your yarn selection! nice work!
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are too cute. I liked looking around and I think your shop is good
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteThe photos are beautiful, but I do agree that spotlighting the item for sale would bring them up a notch. The fabric you are giving away is beautiful! christina112358 at gmail dot com
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are absolutely precious!! Who wouldn't want on to put on such a cute baby?!:)
ReplyDeleteOh my word - how precious are your models! I love your photos. It shows off the hats very well and everyone can do with a little cuteness in their lives. The aviator hat is the best.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your store and I hope this generates a whole lotta interest for you.
Thank you for a great giveaway and the chance to win.

I love the little baby models and the hats are darling!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute shop, I love the little aviator hat
ReplyDeleteThe photos are great, the aviator hat is my favorite - unfortunately no one to put it on. So the fabric is just as nice.
ReplyDeleteI love your yarn choices, but I wish you had more size options.
ReplyDeleteLove the baby models and you're doing a great job!
ReplyDeleteI want giveaway 1!
I like the urban pixie hat. Your store looks great!
ReplyDeleteI like the baby earflap hat and the boho beanie. It is good to have the babies photographed in them, it helps to see what it will look like on.
ReplyDeleteI would love to be able to gift that hat (#2 giveaway) to a friend.
Thanks for the chance to win. stephspitzer at gmail dot com
Your hats are really precious. I love the wood buttons. I think that baby hats with ears are always adorable. Maybe you can add one of those.
ReplyDeleteHmmm... I noticed that the brown hat that is featured in your shop banner isn't available in your shop. Maybe you just sold it? Anyway, it's precious and you should definitely list more of those in the shop! :)
ReplyDeleteCute fabric, and i love the little hat! (though i don't know a baby that could wear it...) :D
ReplyDeletemy favorite hat is the Urban Baby Boho Holiday Beanie, Newborn Baby Hat & Photo Prop
ReplyDeletejessicarwarfield at gmail dot com
I loves the fabrics.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the generous giveaway and a chance to win!
The photography of the babies is soooo cute. Wonderful job!
ReplyDeleteYour hats are all very cute but I like the pixie bonnets best. I like that you show them on babies, that way I know what they'll look like.
ReplyDeleteI got intrigued by your shop the first time you posted it (I'm a blog subscriber). Question: how do you get around the CPSIA rules on lead testing? (Even if there's obviously no lead, it has to be certified and tested and all that - I have a friend who runs an organic cotton baby clothing store, and her prices had to go up once she had to start paying for certifying that there's no lead paint in organic cotton clothing!) I know a lot of people get around it by saying "oh, this is for a doll the size of a 3-month-old baby," etc., but you're obviously selling openly for babies. Of course, if you're not in the US, that's why :) ... in other news, I love that hat!
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway--thanks for the chance! LOve your sweet little model. :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE the photography! Maybe a bit more variety in styles, like some long 'sock-style' hats and animals?
ReplyDeleteourbusylittlebunch(at)hotmail(dot)com
The little aviator hat is soo cute!
ReplyDeleteAll of the hats are super cute, but I think my favorite from your shop has to be the girl's aviator hat. I am having my first girl in January and this Pixie bonnet would be perfect for here this winter, thank you so much for the opportunity! darbishar(at)hotmail(dot)com
ReplyDelete
